Our Climate Smart production is zero-waste and based on the principles of sustainability, providing environmentally friendly, natural, and clean shrimp.
While traditional shrimp farming has a large carbon footprint and is responsible for extensive mangrove deforestation or damages to the ocean ecosystem, our production is 100% recycling with zero waste and zero use of antibiotics, chemicals, sulphites, or artificial colouring.
Plants located close to major consumer areas
Our energy-efficient production needs no access to the ocean. The artificial seawater is denitrified after each production cycle and reused in the next cycle, replacing only evaporation.
The pilot plant is based near Medina del Campo, 300km from the coast and 720m above sea level.

Reusable, recyclable and eco-friendly
The compostable sludge from water recycling is dried and is reusable as fertilizer for nearby farms.
By reusing and recycling water, no pollution or diseases are fed back to the environment.
Our harvested shrimp is locally produced and short-travelled, providing jobs for locals ensuring integration and support of our model.
Addressing the challenges of conventional shrimp farming
We address the problematic aspects of conventional shrimp farming by offering a green solution with award-winning quality. The emissions for a single shrimp-meal from mangrove deforestation farming is the equivalent of a fuel-efficient car driving from Los Angeles to New York City*.
Our zero-waste, short-travelled, circular economy model is a new development that offers a climate friendly alternative with a low carbon footprint, produced in Europe.
